Overview

The Trinetra Ganesh Temple, located inside the Ranthambore Fort, is one of the oldest temples in Rajasthan and holds immense religious significance. It is the only temple in the world where the entire family of Lord Ganesha is worshipped. The unique feature of the temple is the idol of Lord Ganesha, which has three eyes, symbolizing power and protection.

History of Shree Trinetra Ganesh Temple

The temple’s history dates back to 1299, during a war between King Hameer and Ala-ud-din Khilji inside the Ranthambore Fort. Despite the ongoing battle, King Hameer, a devout follower of Lord Ganesha, never missed offering his prayers.

One night, Lord Ganesha appeared in the king’s dreams and assured him that all his troubles would vanish by morning. The next day, a miraculous symbol of Lord Ganesha appeared on the walls of the fort, and the war came to an unexpected end. This event led to the establishment of the Trinetra Ganesh Temple, which has since been a sacred site for devotees.
